Spartan Health Sciences University, School of Medicine offers a four-year (40 calendar months) academic program leading to the Doctor of Medicine degree (M.D.), and is taught on a trimester (four months) schedule.

The curriculum of the University’s Doctor of Medicine degree program encompasses a comprehensive course of Basic Sciences, Pre-clinical, bridging curriculum and Clinical Sciences that is four (4) academic years. The trimester period commences in January, May, and September of each year. A student may elect to enter in any one of the three (3) trimesters.

To provide the best possible medical education to the students, the curriculum is under continuous review by the Deans of Basic and Clinical Sciences in conjunction with the faculty, consultants, and Board of Trustees.

The five trimesters of the Basic Science program is an integrated presentation of the following :

• Basic medical sciences include Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Behavioural Sciences, Pharmacology, and Pathology.
• Pre- clinical didactics include General Introduction to Medicine and Physical Diagnosis. Didactic lectures in Internal Medicine, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Obstetrics/Gynaecology and Surgery.
• A bridging curriculum is introduced for integration of Basic Sciences into Clinical Sciences.
• The Clinical Science program consist of four (4) trimesters and is committed to broad exposure in the major clinical disciplines of Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Psychiatry.
• The Bridging Curriculum consists of series of problem solving exercises and clinical case studies, some in small groups settings, intertwined with the Basic Sciences and Introduction to clinical sciences. Students will apply acquired basic science knowledge to pre- clinical science topics using critical decision making techniques. They will also engage in a sequential process involving

The challenges of increased demands in the clinical curriculum and the emphasis on the integration of basic and clinical data in modern medical education necessitate the addition of a fifth trimester to the existing on-island curriculum. The inclusion of a fifth trimester with an organ-system review and expansion of the basic-clinical sciences interrelationships will better prepare our students for their clinical experiences and U.S.M.L.E. examinations.

Organ system review of the basic sciences in the fifth trimester will prepare students to meet the challenges facing modern medical education.

All students are required to demonstrate competency in the basic medical sciences before being permitted to begin clinical rotations. Competency is assessed from the University administered and required Comprehensive Exit Examination at the end of Basic Sciences program and passing the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1.

No student will be eligible for graduation until all academic requirements and financial obligations to the University have been fulfilled.

All throughout Caribbean islands (West Indies), there are more than 12 different universities List of MCI Approved Universities. The list includes American University of Antigua (AUA) managed by the most famous Indian medical University Mani pal University. All these universities prepare you to be a Medical professional to USA. However, you have to be very careful in the selection of the universities. USMLE is extremely strict on the rules on credit hours earned at various stages of the program. Nanjing University Originated in October of 1954, this University is one of the earliest recognized universities of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. As the originator and advocator of TCM higher education, Nanjing University enjoys a reputation of "the Foundation of Chinese TCM Higher Education" both at home and abroad

NJUCM is famous for its own teaching achievements. At the initial stage of Traditional Chinese Medicine higher education in China, Nanjing University worked out the first edition of the syllabus, assembled the first series of textbooks, and cultivated the first group of teaching staff for the whole nation. On its campus there are 13 schooling units with College of Basic Medicine, First Clinical Medicine, Second Clinical Medicine, College of Pharmacy, College of Nursing, and College of International Education, etc. NJUCM offers 17 Bachelor programs including TCM, Chinese Material Medical, Acupuncture and Moxibustion, Chinese Tuina, and Nursing, etc. to give students comprehensively the academic subjects. It provides four levels of education: the three-year professional program, Bachelor program, Master program and Doctor Program. There are three post-doctoral working stations covering TCM, Chinese Material Medical, and Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine, 21 majors for Doctor’s degree, and 23 majors for Master’s degree in this university. For the time being, students on campus number more than 15,000, among which over 1800 are postgraduate students, and about 900 are international students or students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan at different learning levels.

NJUCM has faculty members nearly 1200, professors are 118 teachers and associate professors are 196 teachers. Some of them have achieved significantly and become world-known scholars or experts. In fact, NJUCM has cultivated more than 30,000 skilled TCM practitioners or researchers for the nation.

NJUCM also has strong strengths in scientific research. Jiangsu Regional Centre for Deep Processing Engineering and Jiangsu Regional Centre for Research and Development of Marine Drugs associate to NJUCM. Moreover, Jiangsu Provincial Centre for Chinese Medicine Research and New Drug Development is being built right now. National Standardized Laboratory of Pharmacology for Chinese Material Medical and the State Drug (herbal medicine) Clinical Research Centre are also established in this university. Currently, NJUCM has 3 disciplines at national level, 7 key disciplines of State Administration of TCM, and 7 disciplines at provincial level. In recent years, three scientific research projects were awarded with national prizes. Furthermore, two research projects won National Certificates for Grade a New Drugs.

Equipped with great learning and teaching facilities, NJUCM consists of two campuses: one is in Xianlin, and the other is in Hanzhongmen. Xianlin campus was having an area of nearly 100 hectares and more than 420,000 square meters of practical construction. NJUCM has 16 affiliated hospitals, 20 teaching hospitals, 158 practicing bases altogether. Its library, a branch of Chinese Literature Search Centre for TCM, has a collection of more than 800,000 books and over 2,000 kinds of domestic and foreign journals.

Enormous achievements in International Education and outstanding performance in International exchange and cooperation are other unique characteristics of NJUCM. Several University opening to the world, it received the first opening of international students of TCM in 1957. Early in the year of 1993, it initiated a joint Bachelor program with Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia, making the very first university of TCM in China to begin collaboration with a nationally accredited university in the West in the field of TCM higher education. In the year of 2005, authorized by State Administration of TCM, NJUCM began undertaking the Master program of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine with University of Rome and University of Milan, Italy, which was carried out at governmental level with foreign country in this field for the first time. Hebei Medical University

It was situated in Shijiazhuang, Hebei Area, North China Plain, 

was recognized in 1894, and basically originated from the London Hospital by the British people in 1879. In 1881, it obtains the medical school to cultivate the medical talents. Hebei Medical University is one of the oldest universities in China.

This University has become a broad medical university composed of western medicine, traditional medicine, pharmacy and other subjects at present. There are 14 majors of undergraduate, 2 majors of joint undergraduate and postgraduate, 56 majors of postgraduate, 16 majors of doctorate, and four main subjects have been built for post-doctorate study mobiles, with Biology, Basic Medicine, Clinic Medicine and Addition of Traditional Chinese Medicine & Western Medicine. And the last one is the national-level subject.

The current enrolment is about 20,000. There are 9781 full-time students in school, 6728 adult students, and nearly 50 foreign students from South Korea and Japan and so on. Now it has been qualified to enrol students from Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao.

Hebei Medical University has a body of high quality teaching staff. The aggregate number is over 7100, the faculty is of 867 professors, senior researchers and chief physicians, 1350 associate professors. A set of specialists and professors of great accomplishments are well-known within the province and even the whole country, 18 excellent experts at the provincial level, 16 outstanding young experts at the provincial or national level, 25 excellent teachers at the provincial or national level, and nearly 40 have taken the positions of the standing or committee members of the national specialties associations.

Jiangxi Medical University

This medical college was located in Nanchang and originated in 1959, the capital city of Jiangxi area, China, is an advanced learning institute with focus on Medicine and associated disciplines.

This university now has four campuses, which cover a total area of 2308 Chinese Mu with a building area of 490,000 sq. meters. The campus-library is home to 745,000 copies of books, over 350,000 electronic books and 13 electronic resource databases.
